What Happened?

Here I am in November of 2019 and how did I get here? Last time I looked it was the year 2000. Well, maybe that's a slight exageration. But the way time zips along when you are older is, frankly, frightening.

Needless to say, I am still not "caught up," when it comes to things I am supposedly working on. Since we moved and Art is now full time retired, I can't seem to retrieve my schedule, (such as it was.) But I did have some kind of a routine. I don't blame Art - he's floundering also, trying to make sense of everything. Nobody can do this for you - you have to decide what you want to do.

We have activities here and of course, that is taking up some time. Not that we're madly active but it's more for us to do. And trying to get some work done on the house. Now this room I sit in is going to have new carpet. That means moving everything in it. I have my computer, my painting gear, printer, a bookcase full of items - every available space has something in it, since this house has limited storage and no basement. Also the other bedroom has to be cleared. Not as much there except Art's desk area which has quite a bit on it. I guess people think retirement means sitting around just doing nothing all day. Nothing could be further from the truth, really. There always seems to be something we have to do and I'm glad to sit down just once in a while!

As to writing, I do have some short pieces that were done because I joined the "Manchester Writers Circle" - I think that's the name - can't remember! It meets twice a month and people read out their work so I usually have something although reading aloud is a thing I have never got over since I had to do it in high school! I need to get back to longer works.

Well, this is enough for now. I hope to survive the installation of a new bathroom floor and toilet and the aforesaid rugs. Then on to Thanksgiving, tra la!
