Christmas is Almost Here

Yes, once again, that day has crept up on us. Actually, we celebrated the gift part of Christmas on December 10th, the day that our children said they could all get together. Only one or maybe two people will be at our house on the actual day. That's what happens when you get old. Life goes on and you deal with it and try to enjoy what you have. And we do.

I participated in Nanowrimo once again and made it to over 50,000 words. I'm not sure what all I wrote down but after the New  Year I will bear down on it and find out! I really had to do it to give myself a kick in the rear end (not easy to do) and just move. I suppose getting a kick in the rear end is really an incentive to go into motion. Sometimes we need it.

The children and I went to the movies and saw the latest Disney movie. It was well done and the kids enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the popcorn they bought and handed to me. I don't know if I have ever had movie house popcorn and it was very good. I was not really going to eat more than a few kernels but by that evening, it was all gone.

A smaller group of us are intending to see the Star Wars movie, which is said to be an interim film to keep the interest up for the next chapter of the Star Wars saga. Whatever. It's a movie.

At home, Art and I have been watching foreign films, mysteries and crime sagas with subtitles. We're enjoying this look into the workings of other countries. The subtitles are actually a great improvement on the regular movies because the sound on our television is very irritating. The background noise or music drowns out dialogue. We are due to replace this television set but I'm not sure that the sound will be better. People seem to be complaining about it. I could probably write for an hour about how maddening the volume of sound is today but I won't. I have learned that some things are what they are and have to be lived with. C'est la vie?

If you are reading this, I hope you have or had a blessed Christmas and the best of luck in the New Year.

  1. OPUS - "Obsessive-Compulsive Postulation in Unconfirmed Subjectivism", is anti-thinking for your personal subjective validation of issue for which you have strong feelings. Whatever your self-willed purposes, you make your own choices. Not unlike the criminal who gets caught in the miscalculations of their communal ruses, all of us decide between the personal gain and potential loss for the sake of self-gratification. Feelings are allowed to trump logic. technical investigator
